For over a year now, the Casa Llanta Fund and Comunidad Connect have partnered up to host bi-weekly English classes to the students in El Carizal. Every Monday and Wednesday our volunteers in town and students who wait outside their homes on the dirt road leading 6 miles south of San Juan del Sur to the community of El Carizal. We have hosted sports and art camps, beach cleanups, “pool days” and more with the hope to encouraging the students within our community stay in school. After almost a complete year and one half, we are starting to see serious progress in the not only the english language development of the students within the community but also literacy and school attendance.
