One of the ways in which you can support the local community of El Carizal is by purchasing jam from the local women’s coop. With the support and guidance of the Earthship Pitaya Festival organizers, the women in El Carizal have formed a coop to sell jam made of locally grown fruit. ALL of the proceeds from jam sales go directly to the women’s coop which they are currently saving in a local bank account with the goal of eventually building a community health clinic and commercial kitchen for further condiment preparation and distribution.
