Melvin Busto Godinez

Melvin is a 18 years old. His passion for life often evidenced by his huge smile. He loves sports and took a bonze medal at Managua’s special olympics in 2009. He also loves anything to do with music and is a very talented drummer. Just give him a set of bongo drums and he is sure to get the crowd on their feet. Yelsin Jose Rocha Romero

Yelsin is a 13-year-old boy and has a smile that is unfailingly contagious. Yelsin is not able to talk but is seemingly always happy.  He laughs a lot and has the patience to communicate his needs in any given moment.  He is always motivated to complete his homework.  He loves to play the drums and dance like a rockstar.

Jairo Ramon Briones Marenco

Jairo is 42 years old.  At school, Jairo works mainly on creative projects as making piñatas, paintings and drawings. Jairo has a happy character is full of stories.  He loves to draw, paint, color or do anything artistic. He often helps take care of the other students in the classroom. Jairo is also a very hard worker.

Erick López

Erick is 17 years old. He is very quiet and typically spends his time alone.  He focus on work for hours with a little direction from a teacher. He has a very gentle spirit and is learning to play the guitar. He hopes to one day have a guitar of his own to practice on.

Amanda Inez Liezar Mena

Amanda is 19 years old.  She enjoys art, music and dancing. She is also an absolute expert at making piñatas.

Reyna Isabel Herrero Castillo

Reyna is 31 years old.  She is not able to hear nor to talk, but communicates by making sounds with intonation and points to clarify the message. Reyna does not yet know but we are hoping to teach her to communicate through sign language one day. Reyna works with her mother, making plastic flowers. In the classroom Reyna’s creativity flourishes.

Silvia Veronica Molina Martinez

Silvia is 35 years old.  Silvia works well with others in the classroom and is very passionate about painting and jewelry making. She expresses her creativity through her art. She is a constant positive peace maker in the classroom.

Sonia Noguera Vallejos

Sonia is 42 years old. She attends school every day and she is exclusively occupied with coloring of a drawing sheet or a coloring.  She works independently and can work tirelessly for hours consecutively.  Although not the most dominant personality in the classroom, she is always aware of her fellow classmates and often found quietly chuckling. Her favorite past time is painting and she makes all her own jewelry.  She is photographed here with a recent masterpiece.
